Quentin Prugnieres of F&H Racing finished seventh in the gruelling fifth round of the MX2 World Championship in Agueda, Portugal. He held his own in the mud and managed to finish ninth and sixth in the motos.
On Saturday morning, the circuit was still in pretty good shape during the practice sessions, but due to the rainfall, this quickly changed. Prugnieres set a twelfth fastest time in time practice but rode even stronger in the qualifying heat. He braved the mud and managed to qualify for the race in a strong seventh place.
On Sunday, the conditions were much worse. It rained from time to time and this did not do the track any good. Prugnieres put in a strong performance in the first moto by fighting his way back from thirteenth place to ninth position.
In the second moto things went even better and Prugnieres had a good rhythm on the difficult track. In the first few laps, he was running in fifth place and even took fourth place. However, due to a mistake, he lost three valuable places and dropped back to seventh place. Prugnieres gained one place in the closing stages and crossed the finish line in a good sixth place.
With a 9-6 in the motos, he finished in seventh place in the day’s classification. He is twelfth in the world championship standings. The team now travels to the sixth round of the championship in Lugo, Spain.
